Tixel skin & eyelid tightening

Tixel is an advanced skin rejuvenation treatment designed to improve skin texture, stimulate collagen, and tighten delicate areas such as the eyelids.

Unlike many traditional resurfacing treatments, Tixel uses controlled thermal energy rather than lasers or needles. This allows us to treat sensitive areas, including the upper and lower eyelids, while keeping downtime relatively minimal.

At Morningside Medispa, Tixel is often used as part of a strategic skin treatment plan, targeting concerns such as fine lines, crepey skin, and loss of firmness.

what Tixel can help improve

Tixel can be effective for:

  • fine lines and wrinkles
  • crepey eyelid skin
  • under-eye texture
  • crow’s feet
  • skin laxity around the eyes
  • uneven skin texture
  • enlarged pores
  • acne scarring
  • neck and décolletage ageing

It is particularly valued for treating delicate areas that many other technologies cannot safely address, such as the eyelids.

how Tixel works

Tixel uses a specialised titanium tip with tiny heated pins that briefly touch the skin.

These controlled thermal contacts create microscopic channels and deliver heat into the skin. This process stimulates the body’s natural healing response and encourages new collagen production, leading to gradual improvements in skin texture and firmness.

Over time, the skin becomes smoother, firmer, and more refined.

what makes Tixel different

Many skin rejuvenation treatments rely on lasers or aggressive resurfacing.

Tixel is different because it uses pure thermal energy, allowing precise control over depth and intensity.

This approach offers several advantages:

  • suitable for delicate areas such as eyelids
  • minimal downtime compared to aggressive resurfacing
  • controlled, predictable treatment
  • suitable for many skin types

what to expect during treatment

Numbing is optional. Most clients tolerate the treatment well without it. If you prefer to be numbed, you are welcome to apply your own numbing cream before your appointment.

The Tixel handpiece is then applied to the skin in a series of very brief pulses. Most clients describe the sensation as a quick feeling of heat, rather than pain.

Treatment time depends on the area being treated but typically takes 10–30 minutes.

recovery and downtime

Downtime is generally very mild.

You may experience:

  • redness for 24 hours
  • in very rare cares, mild swelling, particularly around the eyes
  • a rough “sandpaper” texture for a few days, but this is very subtle

Make-up can usually be worn after 24–48 hours, depending on the treatment intensity.

when results appear

Some improvements in skin texture can be noticed within a few weeks.

However, collagen production takes time, so results continue to develop over the following 2–3 months.

treatment plans

The number of treatments depends on the concern being addressed and your skin condition.

Typical plans include:

  • skin rejuvenation: 2–3 sessions
  • eyelid tightening: 3–4 sessions
  • acne scarring or deeper lines: 3–5 sessions

Treatments are usually spaced 4–6 weeks apart.

Tixel FAQ

Yes. One of the main advantages of Tixel is that it can safely treat the upper and lower eyelids, an area that many other technologies cannot treat effectively.

Specialised settings are used to work on the thin skin around the eyes.

does Tixel hurt?

Most clients describe the sensation as a brief heat or prickly warmth.

A topical numbing cream is usually applied beforehand to make the treatment comfortable.

how long does the treatment take?

Most sessions take 15–30 minutes, depending on the area treated.

how much downtime is there?

Downtime is generally mild and short.

Most clients experience redness and a slightly rough skin texture for a few days.

when will I see results?

You may start to notice improvements in skin texture within a few weeks.

However, collagen remodelling continues over time, so results often keep improving for several months after treatment.
